I always get excited about my first wedding of the year, and I had quite a lot of fun with Jess and Adam and their friends and family! These guys had a beautiful February wedding, for sure. Jess and Adam were married at Christ Lutheran Church in Duncannon, and had their reception at Park Inn in Mechanicsburg. Adam’s groomsmen drove from all over the country to be at his wedding, and Jess’s bridesmaids, well, they kept smiling even while freezing on a breezy winter day.

Engaged: Monica and Sam in Dauphin

It’s always pretty nice to have a photoshoot less then 1/4 of a mile from my house, and it was a special treat to do another engagement session in the snow. Monica and Sam live only a 5 minute walk from my house, and were totally up for the challenge of shooting outside in conditions that’ll make your hands go numb. They totally rocked it, too. Notice that they weren’t wearing any gloves (and they didn’t put any on between shots). Thankfully, we had a warm ending to the session at their house, where they snuggled by their fireplace.

Engaged: Katie and Evan

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of spending a few hours on a very balmy November day with Katie and Evan. Katie and I used to work at an Old Navy store, back in the day. Thankfully, our time together this past weekend didn’t involve re-folding denim jeans late at night. Yeah, you’d probably have to have worked in clothing retail to understand that. Anyway, this was officially an adventure for several reasons: First, because we drove to the remote recesses of Lebanon County and had to walk the rest of the way to our location because a bridge was out, Second, I may or may not have almost gotten us all lost in another remote area of Lebanon County. Thankfully, we didn’t get lost, and we got some great pictures from the day. Third, I made it a mission during the course of our afternoon to get Evan (who is a lawyer) to have blatant disregard for the law. (okay, not exactly the law… but close) Ladies and Gentlemen, I present the evidence below.

Married: Katelin and Rocky

Katelin and Rocky’s wedding is incredible for a couple of reasons. First, they’re my last wedding of 2011. Second, MY DAD second shot with me. It was a privilege and honor, ‘cause my dad was shooting weddings way before I was even a twinkle in his eye. Pretty cool! Third, Katelin and Rocky gave me a lot of freedom and time to get some great photos in and around the beautiful Dickinson College in downtown Carlisle, PA. And, lastly, it wasn’t raining, hailing, tornadoing (is that even a word?), or snowing in November. Here in PA, we’re grateful for normal weather. If you’re a blog-stalker, you might remember their downtown Carlisle engagement session. With that said, I’ll leave the words aside and turn to the photos:

PORTRAITS: The Weaver Family

Newly re-located to Hershey, we ventured over to the amazing Founders Hall, which is part of the Milton Hershey School Campus. There, we managed grab a few shots… they really made my job easy!

Engaged: Jess and Bryan in Frenchtown, NJ

Jess and Bryan are a lovely couple from Long Island who happened upon Frenchtown in their travels to and from Jess’s home town of Carlisle. Frenchtown, besides its ridiculously cheap gas (as compared to anywhere around NYC), is home to a charming little collection of shops, parks, and a bunch of really cool places for photography. Bryan and Jess proceeded to take me on a tour of their home away from home, demonstrated jazz hands, tutu-wearing, and snowball-smashing, though not in that order. I can’t believe I’m writing about snowballs in late-October and early-November, but such is the crazy weather we’ve been having.

Now, I’ll stop writing and show you a few of photos I liked:

Jess is a former ballet dancer, and I believe that ballet dancers (former and current) must be required to carry a tutu at all times… or something like that.

Married: Vicky & Brett at Blue Hound Farm

You may remember Vicky and Brett from their fabulous engagement session around Annapolis and in the Chesapeake Bay on their boat. Fast forward just two months, and I had the privilege to photograph these two on a slightly chilly October Saturday. Things that made this wedding unique and special: First, Blue Hound Farm – a great, gorgeous location for a wedding. Probably one of the best-kept secrets in and around the Central PA Area. Second, a bride and groom who let me try anything… like using a wooden chair we found in the woods as a prop. Third, a wedding surrounded by some of my good friends. Vicky and I and some others (Mel, Steph) all went to H.A.C.C. many moons ago. Forth, they had a pie bar. As in, a table practically overloaded with pie, pie, and more pie. It was awesome.

Portraits: The Newlin Family

So, I met the Newlin family at Bullfrog Valley Pond Park (a mouthful to say!) in Hershey and simple watched as cuteness converged. Not only were all of the kids full of smiles, giggles, and goofiness, but they were total naturals in front of the camera. Most of the time, I quietly snapped pictures while they were being themselves. Bonus points to Dorcas for fantastic clothing choices and coordination. Now, onto the pictures:
