Married: Donna and Jeff

I had the privilege of photographing Donna and Jeff’s wedding and reception held at Enck’s in Manheim. If you haven’t already seen their engagement session, I’ll repeat what I learned about Donna and Jeff: they are some of the most genuine, caring people. Listening to Jeff’s bestman give a speech about how Jeff offered free childcare (for three kids! all young!) numerous times, you can’t help but know that he’s an awesome man! Donna, for her part, had eyes only for Jeff. Donna’s mom even welcomed me to Enck’s with so much flair (and a tour!) that I almost mistook her for the wedding coordinator at first. Oh, and they even had a kids activity table at the reception, which is an awesome idea.

Anyway, I’d like to share with you a few of my favorites.

I don’t normally post family formal photos, but I thought these guys were an awesome bunch of people!

Engaged: Lindsey and Josh at the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association

I’m always a big fan of shooting at locations that are both unique and meaningful to the people I’m photographing. Lindsey and Josh took me to Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association where they maintain, restore and run antique steam engines, including steam locomotives. It was a place with lots of old-school technology, and an excellent place to take the little boys (or little boys at heart) to see lots of big trains up close. In the pursuit of some great photography, Lindsey and Josh climbed into, over, through, and even under various railroad engines and tracks. They also managed to snag a kiss while hurtling down the track on a railcar.

Also, a special thanks goes out to Matthew Hoover, who between making fun of all of the romance between Lindsey and Josh also managed to get old rickety diesel engines running, held lights, and drove us safely down the track and back.

Married: Ashley & Caleb

I was super excited when Ashley’s mom Amy contacted me a few months ago to shoot Ashley’s wedding. I’ve photographed for the Stucks a few times, and they ~~always get me into trouble~~ are a lot of fun to work with. This wedding was no exception! Ashley and Caleb had to make a tough design to forgo an awesome outdoor ceremony location and instead, have the wedding inside. It was good that they did, because the pounding rain kept us company for a little while before the ceremony and on and off the rest of the evening. With that said, we still had some amazing time for photos before and after the wedding. Change of plans? No worries for these guys. Because of the rain, I had sometime to take “crazy face” photos. It made for some entertainment during the reception!

Babies: Aurora

Engaged: Liz and Kyle

Liz and Kyle have quite the how-we-met story. Even as Liz and I were emailing back and forth to schedule time together, I really enjoyed hearing how God was in the center of all of their circumstances, and ultimately drew them together. With all of that said, stopping at the Capitol Building, Riverfront Park, the Walnut Street Bridge, and random alleyways was a lot of fun. Enjoy some of my favorite photos:

Engaged: Kathy and Jason

I spent a wonderful spring morning with Kathy and Jason a few weeks ago at the beautiful campus of Lebanon Valley College. As we walked among the buildings and grounds where Kathy and Jason met, I couldn’t help but notice their near constant joking, joy, and a maturity to their love that’s withstood not only the test of time, but also of distance. I have to give kudos to both of these guys for being willing to walk ALL over campus to find some great locations, sneaking into forbidden areas (shhh!), and not getting blown away by the strong winds of spring.

With that said, here’s a few of my favorite photos. Enjoy!

Engaged: Brandie and Ben

Ben and I go way, way back. His mom and my mom were best friends and Ben and I were born just a month a part. We played cops and robbers at each others houses, got in trouble at his parent’s farm, and Ben was the best man at my wedding – doing the best man’s toast in rhyme, no less. Brandie, on the other hand, I’ve not known as long. I just wish that I had a hand in hooking Brandie up with Ben, cause she’s that nice of a girl. Oh, and they took me out to eat after doing some engagement photos…. that sealed the deal for sure.

They get married in just a few months, and I’m so looking forward to be a part of it. In the meantime, here’s a few of my favorite images from our time together:

In case you are wondering, that is not a cemetery in the background. Rather, it’s a rock arrangment in the style of Stonehenge. Only in Lancaster County can you have a covered-bridge and Stonehenge within walking distance.

Married: Julie and Mike

I knew I’d be in for a good time at Julie and Mike’s wedding after having a engagement session filled with tractors and epic buildings. With that said, what was truly amazing was how Julie and Mike (and their entire wedding party) pulled together and made the best of what should have been a rainy, dreary day. Instead, we all got a lot of exercise and laughs as we raced in and out of cover to grab photos between the raindrops. Later, the rain held off enough for a hoe-down at the gorgeous Iron Stone Ranch in E-town. Oh, and since this hoe-down featured a soft-serve ice cream station, it made for some awesome sugar-high-filled dance photos. I hope y’all enjoy some of my favorites:

Engaged: Donna and Jeff

As we were walking into the beautiful little park that is Lititz Springs Park in downtown Lititz, Jeff started joking that he’d never did a photo shoot before. His inexperience didn’t show during our time together. Instead, I watched two people have a blast together. I always say that the only tough part about a photo shoot with me is listening to my bad jokes….

Seniors: Joanna
